SeniorCare

Senior Care · Exercise & Rehabilitation

Exercise, Rehabilitation .......... and More Reasons to Enjoy Moving.

Build your senior care program around the goals that matter: reducing fall risk, strengthening everyday function and increasing engagement. The MiraColt’s rhythmic, multidimensional riding motion creates an active foundation for seated exercise. Combine it with purposeful reaching, posture and coordination activities; or simply enjoy the ride to make movement an inviting part of the day.

Purposeful Movement · Everyday Goals

Exercise With a Purpose. Enjoy the Experience.

Use MiraColt’s moving seat to challenge postural control and coordinate purposeful activities. Match each session to the person’s abilities, interests and rehabilitation goals, then connect that practice with daily life.

Train the Balance Responses That Support Steadier Movement.

MiraColt Benefit

The moving seat prompts repeated adjustments through the pelvis and trunk. Put that response to work in activities that challenge seated balance and controlled weight shifting.

Put It Into Practice

Guide gentle reaches toward clearly placed targets, matching support and reach distance to the person.

Connect With Daily Life

Connect seated practice with the participant’s broader balance and fall-prevention program.

Connect Every Session With Everyday Movement.

MiraColt Benefit

MiraColt’s walking-pattern rhythm provides repeated practice opportunities for pelvic movement, weight transfer and trunk alignment—the movement components used in everyday mobility.

Put It Into Practice

Practice upright alignment and purposeful weight shifts, then connect the session with relevant walking or transfer activities.

Connect With Daily Life

Track the assistance needed for the person’s chosen off-device task.

Put the Pelvis and Trunk to Work.

MiraColt Benefit

Responding to MiraColt’s rhythmic, multidirectional motion engages the trunk as the rider works to stay organized and upright. Adding purposeful arm movements increases the coordination challenge.

Put It Into Practice

Reach, pass a lightweight object or follow an instructor’s movement sequence while maintaining the selected posture.

Connect With Daily Life

Work toward steadier sitting and purposeful use of the arms during daily activities.

Give People More Reasons to Keep Moving.

MiraColt Benefit

Give exercise a reason to look forward to it. Music, familiar games and shared activities turn movement into an experience built around the person’s interests.

Put It Into Practice

Play a target game, move to a favorite song or share a simple passing activity with a partner.

Connect With Daily Life

Record participation, enjoyment and willingness to return alongside the physical goals.

Reducing fall risk is a program goal. Choose exercise and assistance through individual assessment, and review progress in the relevant everyday activities.

Research & Practitioner Perspective

Promising Results in Older-Adult Mobility.

Early Findings at The Delaney at Lake Waco

10 minutes · Twice a week · Six weeks

In a small proof-of-concept study, four of nine treatment participants who started at or above the Timed Up and Go fall-risk threshold finished below it.

What the Study Measured

The investigator summary reports 20 enrolled participants; 10 treatment and three control participants completed after dropout and group changes. Participants added MiraColt sessions to their usual activities. Small, imbalanced groups and crossover limit interpretation. The findings concern mobility assessment scores and do not establish fewer actual falls.
